It was pretty rough
because I've gotten so close to a ton of people!! They're family in my mind, they really are. So that was really tough. I also said goodbye to some of the members
I've gotten close to.
Like the Reynosos
and the Jessops (yeah I know which ones? π)
but it's so cool to have been able to have met these people. I'm going to miss all of them especially the
ones who really made it that much better, like Morgan Reynoso. She was honestly like a second mom to me. Joe Jessop changed my mission and my life for
good, just because he saw something in me I didn't see myself. So much change came because of my time in
Corvallis. I feel like I grew stronger
and stronger as a missionary and in my faith. My time in Corvallis has made me into the
person I am now. So yeah saying goodbye
was tough. But like I told everyone I
could, it's not like I'm dying!! I'm going to be back and that's a promise!!
Wednesday we shoved
off and I went to my new area. So we got
to Helena and I got to see a lot of missionaries I haven't seen for a while, which
was awesome!! Then we got in the back of
the zone leaders truck...
which was pretty dang small but it's all good we just
kind of did our thing and drove down, and talked about the area and all that. Then we got there and I got to see the man,
the myth, the legend Elder Tricky Trae Patterson himself!! That was a reunion that was long overdue!! It was so good to see him!! We talked for a bit then we went down to our
area. Once we got there we didn’t have a
phone at first... then our area Book (which we rely on as missionaries) and lds
tools (which we rely on as well) wouldn't update and it said we were still in
our last areas. Because of this we didn't have any way of contacting people,
and we didn't know anyone to contact. We
literally were starting fresh which was a crazy place to be!! So we did our best and tracked down a phone
and a few numbers. Then on Friday we had
interviews with our mission president and that was awesome!! We talked a bit about stuff. Then the next day we went to Belgrade for a baptism
that Elder Christensen got permission to go to, so we went and said hi to a lot
of people there and it was pretty fun!!
Then on Sunday we went
down to Lima which is a tiny town that's close to Rexburg to get to our stake
center. We could have driven to BYUI
faster than we could have driven to our stake center, which was crazy. Then that night we had a convert fireside and
it was really awesome and really powerful. At the fireside all these recent converts got
up and bore their testimonies on how they came to know that the church was true
and it was so sick!! I loved it a lot!! And then we went home after that.
Alright so now
you're all probably wondering what about your companion!?! Well I'll tell ya… I
found out I was going to be with Elder Christensen and the first thing I
thought of was, "this is going to be the trial of my mission." and “I'm
going to have a rough time with this”. So
I emailed the Mission President and I told him that I was going to do it and I
would be companions with him, but I had to know what he was thinking?? This was literally the only missionary I had a
problem with. He emailed me back and
called me out. He basically told me not
to be prideful... so that kind of shook me up a bit because I've never seen myself
as a prideful person. But I thought
about it and decided that this missionary is getting a clean slate and as far
as I know this is the first time I'm meeting Elder Christensen. So I met up
with him and two hours... two hours is all it took. All the hate from months on months quickly
changed into love. No joke, this
companion is awesome. I've learned so much
from just the past few days and I'm so excited to continue learning.
The moral of the
story is, don't judge anyone. And if you
hate someone, let the Lord work His magic and see what He can do. If He can turn months of hate into love towards
someone anything is possible. I never
would have thought I would love this guy.
He can do so much in our lives if we just let it happen!! Remember that everyone!!
I love ya!! Have a wonderful and a blessed day!!
P.S. Our apartment
is like super tiny and we can barely stand up in some places. So we got the bright idea to do a handstand
and take a picture and then flip it so it looks like we are walking on the
ceiling. So the first one was pretty
good. No complaints. But we decide to flip me around and he takes
off his sweater for the next picture.
Well what happens is I go up and my arm tweeks a bit and then my back
goes through the wall and I fall on my head π
so yeah, basically I'm an idiot π
Love,
Elder Zeller
